Centenarian celebrates birthday
A Niagara Falls man celebrated his 100th birthday with five generations of his family today.
Decimo Castronovo was born in Sicily in 1912. He got his name because he was the 10th of 12 children. He’s now the last sibling alive, but from his four children, he has lived to see the birth of five great, great grandchildren.
He fought in World War II, immigrated to Niagara Falls in 1951, and earned a living as a carpenter. His wife lived until she was 98 and died only recently.
Castronovo still lives in his own home in Niagara Falls and is the picture of good health. His three tips for a good life: eat little, walk every day, and don’t keep anything bottled up.
