Census deadline day

Canadians have until Tuesday night to fill out their Census forms before the Government starts calling.

Most households have been able to fill out the questionnaire since last week.

Statistics Canada designates a specific date for the survey to get a snapshot of the country.

So far, Stats Can has received more than five million Census questionnaires.

Most of them were filled out online.

If you haven’t filled yours out by Wednesday, May 11, you may get a call reminding you to get it done because “it’s the law”.

Statistics Canada has thousands of Census Enumerators to make sure everyone is counted by this Summer.

Refusing to fill out the form could cost you a $500 fine or up to 3 months in jail.
