CAZA clears Marineland

Marineland has been given a passing grade after an unannounced inspection late last month.

A rep from Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums went to the Niagara Falls park October 26th, and reports the water quality was clear and clean — and that testing matched the water logs kept by park staff.

The report also found all of the animals in question were inspected and appeared to be in good health with no signs of eye or skin problems.

It did find though that Marineland did not have a new water management protocol. The park has been the scene of several protests in the past few months after a former trainer went to the media with allegations of animal neglect and abuse.
