Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is hoping the public can help identify a driver after a terrifying near miss collision was captured on camera.

It happened on Cockshutt Rd. between Oakland Rd. and Jenkins Rd. in Brant County around 4:50 p.m. Monday.

Police released video of the incident on Twitter Wednesday morning.

The footage is from a driver’s dash camera and appears to show a vehicle travelling down Cockshutt Rd. when a car heading in the opposite direction attempts to pass a transport truck.

The oncoming car moves back into their lane of traffic when another vehicle appears to try and pass the truck but narrowly misses colliding into the approaching vehicle head-on.

Police are hoping the public can help identify the vehicle and driver involved in what they say could have been a “catastrophic head-on crash.”

Investigators believe the car is a four-door Cadillac-type sedan.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
