A misconduct case against a Hamilton Police officer has been dropped. The complainant in the Police Services Act case against constable Tom Chalmers has withdrawn the charges.

Chalmers was charged with one count of breach of confidence and two counts of neglect of duty. He was accused of releasing private information to an individual’s employer in a letter sent on February 22nd, detailing his professional encounters with that person. But it’s his duty as a police officer to keep those matters private.
