Carney calls early election, candidates begin five-week campaign sprint

After much speculation Prime Minister Mark Carney officially called the 2025 federal election Sunday afternoon.
The move sends Canada into an early campaign, six months ahead of the originally scheduled election date.
The candidates are hitting the ground running with today marking the first full day of campaigning.
In the coming weeks, each party leader will make their case to the country, that they are the best fit to serve Canada as the next Prime Minister.
Carney has opted for the shortest possible campaign period allowed under Canadian law, making it a five-week sprint.
Voters will head to the polls on April 28th.
