Carbon monoxide leak prompts evacuation at downtown Hamilton apartment

An apartment building in Hamilton was evacuated after two of its air handling units failed and the carbon monoxide alarms were triggered.
Authorities say they were called out to an apartment building on Walnut Street South shortly after 5 a.m. Monday.
No one was injured, but multiple HSR buses had to be called to shelter the building’s residents while the building was ventilated.
The contractor responsible for maintaining the affected units was called out to the site and was able to restore one and isolate the other.
