A family living near Gage Park weren’t expecting any visitors this weekend but just after 7 o’clock a group of young people literally crashed their Saturday night plans with their car, right into the front of their house.
At the time of impact, the home owner thought it was something much worse. “The way my house shook I thought the next house maybe they opened the gas and it exploded that is the first thing I thought.”
The home owner said the car narrowly missed his wife who had just returned from getting groceries. Luckily, no one inside the house or inside the car were injured. The insurance company hired a contractor who dismantled the front porch and reinforced the weight-bearing portions of the home. Awaiting the green light to have the car safely removed, the family of four have been staying at a hotel. As for the car, the contractor says it’s awaiting the go-ahead from the insurance company to remove it.
