Cannabis crusaders hold 4-20 protest on Hwy 420

Marijuana activists held protests across Canada Wednesday, as they do every year on 4-20; this year they’re drawing attention to cannabis laws and a Conservative campaign promise.

A gathering was held at the corner of Highway 420 and Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls.
Activists say they’re concerned about Stephen Harper’s pledge to quickly pass “tough on crime” bills that would impose mandatory prison sentences for low-level drug offences.
The group says they do not want to see an American-style war on drugs in Canada.
