Cancer faker found guilty

A St. Catharines woman who bilked a Simcoe senior out of more than $100,000 by faking brain cancer, pleaded guilty Friday.
39-year old Michelle Meade was charged, after she conned the 78-year old woman into re-mortgaging her house and maxing out her credit cards.
Meade told people she had brain cancer, and had only six months to live. She claimed she had a million dollar settlement coming to her from the Children’s Aid Society.
Meade was dating the victim’s grandson. She’ll be sentenced in December.
