Canadians head to the polls Monday as voting opens nationwide

Voting opens Monday across Canada, with polling stations open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
So far, around 7.3 million people have already voted in advance polls – a 25 per cent increase compared to the last election.
By law, your employer must give you three consecutive hours off to cast your vote.
Advance polling saw long lines, but Elections Canada says peak times are in the early morning and after 4 p.m.
Your voter information card will show your voting location, or you can head to Elections Canada’s website to get the exact location.
