Canadians arrested in Egypt

Two Canadians have been arrested amidst the violence in Egypt, as members of the Muslim Brotherhood and supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi continue to stage protests throughout the country.
A mutual friend of the two men who were detained in Cairo said they’ve been visited by Canadian Consular Services, who passed along the message that they are okay. Meanwhile, it’s still chaotic in egypt as clashes continue between Morsi supporters and the military.
Some believe a ban on the Muslim Brotherhood will only lead to violence. Egypt’s official news agency says 36 people were killed when Muslim Brotherhood detainees tried to escape from a prison truck convoy in Northern Cairo tonight.
Since Wednesday, over 800 people have been killed in what is the worst violence the country has seen since the 2011 uprising.
