Canadian volunteers trending older

Canadians who give to charities or volunteer their time are getting older. And that has some worried that there are not enough young people stepping in to take their place. Kelda Yuen takes a look at how charities are responding to the challenge.

It’s a trend seen across the country, including here in Hamilton. More people are volunteering, but the number of donated hours have hit a plateau, with 10% of volunteers doing more than half the work. Volunteers are also getting older.
