Canadian volunteers detained in Ethiopia

13 Canadian volunteers and staff members have been detained in Ethiopia.

They all work with Canadian Humanitarian, a charity based in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

According to their website, the group says they’re accused of practicing medicine without permission and dispensing expired medication.

The group says all the care they have provided in Ethiopia was safe.

The charity is working with Global Affairs Canada with the hopes of resolving the issue quickly.
