Canadian unemployment numbers

Canadian unemployment figures continue to improve for the third month in a row — but very slowly.

Stats Canada says July unemployment was at 7.2%, down 0.2% from the previous month, but that’s partly because fewer people were trying to find work.

Public sector job losses partially offset gains in the private sector, where construction led the way by adding 31,000 jobs.
