Canadian soldiers charged

A dozen charges have been laid against two Canadian soldiers after a training incident that left one soldier dead and four others wounded in Afghanistan.

It happened during an exercise outside Kandahar City.

Joshua Baker, a 24 year old Corporal from Edmonton, was killed last February on a shooting range.

The military has never fully explained what happened, but it now alleges that proper safety procedures weren’t followed.

The Officer In Charge, Major Darryl Watts, and the Range Safety Officer, Warrant Officer Paul Ravensdale, face charges including manslaughter and negligent performance of duty.
