Canadian Labour Congress is calling for major change at long term care facilities

Canada’s top doctors have described it as a national tragedy. Long-term care residents have accounted for more than 80% of the country’s deaths from COVID19, and unions representing the workers at these facilities say the deaths cannot be in vain. The Canadian Labour Congress has put together recommendations for the federal government with the hopes that overhauling the broken system can prevent more tragedies in the future.
