Canadian killed in Dominican
Police in the Caribbean country are investigating the apparent murder of a Canadian man.
The victim is identified as 68-year-old Marcel Adam from Toronto.
His body was found Friday in his apartment in Sousa, a beach village near Puerto Plata.
Police suspect he may have been robbed.
Initial reports say he was either shot or hit in the head with a sharp object.
Dominican officials are quoted as saying Adam may have been killed three days before the body was found.
In Toronto, Adam’s wife, Claudette, is waiting for an autopsy report to find out how he died.
A “For Sale” sign is posted on the lawn of their home.
A friend reportedly found Adam’s body upon arriving to drive Adam to the airport for a flight back to Canada.
Another unnamed friend said Adam had a lot of money, showed it and talked about it.
Adam reportedly owned five apartments in Sosua’s 120-unit Caribe Campo complex.
