“Canadian Giant” wrestler mourned

A former professional wrestler known as the Canadian giant has died. Garry Robbins is being remembered in St Catharines and beyond today as the man with a giant heart.

Robbins died overnight from a heart attack. Standing seven feet, four inches tall, at one point Robbins was the tallest man in Canada; at his peak he weighed 455 pounds.

He competed in the WWE and was friends with Hulk Hogan. Garry and his brother Barry owned Robbins Towing in St Catharines for 34 years.

Robbins was just 57 years old.
