Canadian among those killed in train derailment

Wells Fargo has confirmed that a Canadian executive working in its New York offices is among the seven people known to have died in Tuesday night’s train derailment in Philadelphia.
Abid Gilani, 55, went to both Laurentian University and the University of Saskatchewan, and his mother is reported to still live in Toronto.
Gilani’s wife, Diana, calls her husband “a kind family man” who will be “sorely missed.”
The train’s data recorder has confirmed it was going more than double the 80 km/h speed limit when the emergency brakes were applied seconds before the recorder stopped.
Workers have started cleaning up the wreck but the rails aren’t expected to be repaired before the weekend.
