Canadian airlines last for on-time arrivals in North America: report

Canada’s two largest airlines have ranked last for on-time arrivals among large North American carriers last month, according to a new report.
The report from Cirium, an aviation data company, says that nearly 28 per cent of Air Canada flights landed late in October to place the company as ninth out of 10.
WestJet came out as number 10, with almost 29 per cent of arrivals being late, meaning the plane touched down more than 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival time.
The on-time percentage for both airlines of just over 70 per cent fell short of the North American average of 80 per cent, landing as the lowest of any region globally.
This is while Delta, Unites, Alaska and American Airlines all came out above 85 per cent.
However, Air Canada has a t least scored an improvement from the previous year with a tally of 68 per cent.
Air Canada has previously pointed to a shortage of air traffic controllers, bad weather and a network running at full steam against high demands, which can result in prolonged recovery times following a disruption.
