Canada’s Davis Cup team may make history in Sunday night’s opening reverse singles match.

If Milos Raonic wins, Canada would be put into the semifinals for the first time in 100 years.

On Saturday night, Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil joined forces for a marathon five-set doubles victory, to give Canada a 2-1 lead over Italy.

Canada hasn’t been in the World Group semis since the current Davis Cup tiered format began in 1981.

However, Canada did reach the semi-final before losing to the U.S. In 1913.
