Soldier who died of non-combat injuries is identified
The Canadian military has identified a soldier who died of non-combat related injuries in Afghanistan — but added nothing official
about the cause.
Master Corporal Francis Roy’s death is still under investigation by military police, but enemy action has been ruled out and
investigators are treating it as a possible suicide.
The task force’s senior chaplain, Major Grahame Thompson, says it’s a tough time for the soldiers with only three weeks remaining
in the combat mission.
He says regardless of how the soldier died, everyone grieves.
Thompson says those who knew the soldier are naturally taking it the hardest.
