Canada Day: what’s open and closed

Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in our area for Canada Day.

CLOSED:

  • Banks, government offices and post offices
  • Beer stores, the LCBO and most grocery stores
  • Lime Ridge and Eastgate Square

Hamilton residents who normally have garbage pick-ups on Wednesdays will have their items collected on Thursday.

The COVID-19 testing centre at Dave Andreychuk Mountain arena will also be closed.

Transit in Hamilton, Halton and Niagara will be running on a Sunday-holiday schedule.

Welland Transit will not be running.

GO Transit is running on a Saturday schedule.

There are no changes to garbage collection in Niagara.

OPEN:

  • Sunset Beach in St. Catharines, Nickel Beach in Port Colborne and Charles Daley Park in Lincoln
  • Hamilton’s Starlite Drive-In
  • Canadian Warplane Museum
  • Clifton Hill – many attractions are open
  • Niagara Falls Fury
  • Journey behind the Falls
