Calls grow to evacuate Gaza’s largest hospital

Friends and family have confirmed Vivian Silver – a Canadian-born Israeli activist – was killed in Hamas’ October 7th attack on Israel.

Silver is being remembered for devoting her life to seeking peace with the Palestinians.

This, as calls to release hostages continue. Israeli president Isaac Herzog spoke to thousands of people who gathered in the U.S. capital today in support of Israel and to denounce antisemitism.

Palestinian authorities are continuing calls for a ceasefire to evacuate patients, as Israeli forces battle Hamas in the streets just outside Gaza’s biggest hospital.

Canada’s foreign affairs minister Melanie Joly says she is extremely concerned about the situation, as the United Nations warns its work to support Palestinian civilians will end before tomorrow due to a lack of fuel.
