Call from concerned resident leads to arrests in Hamilton

Two Hamilton women have been arrested after a concerned citizen called police about a suspicious vehicle.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police say they received a call from a resident who saw a woman slumped over inside a parked vehicle at Mahony Park on Barton St. East.

Officers arrived on scene and found two women asleep in the vehicle with heroin in plain sight.

The women were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police say they seized “several individual amounts of heroin” as well as drug paraphernalia.
