After 10 months, “Catch the Ace” in Caledonia came to an end Thursday night when the winning ticket was drawn.

A large crowd gathered at the Caledonia Legion, eagerly awaiting their chance to take home the progressive jackpot.

Volunteer Sandra Fouts-Sacchetti had the daunting task of fishing around in the barrel to pull out a ticket, revealing the name Dan Doleman.

Doleman won a total of $450,409 after finding the ace in envelope number 34.

The fundraiser ran for 43 weeks, with ticket sales bringing in $645,000 for Community Support Centre Haldimand-Norfolk.

This funding is allocated to its community kitchen and meal programs, allowing the centre to address an increase in needs.

This follows the wild “Catch the Ace” saga in Hagersville earlier this year where the winner took home over $2 million.
