Buyer beware for fraudulent cheques

A Simcoe couple sold their SUV before Christmas for 22-thousand dollars only to learn a few days later that their bank wouldn’t honour the cheque because it was a fake. That means the couple is out the 22 grand, plus the vehicle. But they weren’t the only ones tricked over the holidays.
