Buttertart, hot sauce enthusiasts flock to the Ancaster Fairgrounds

Butter tart enthusiasts attended The Ancaster Sweet and Heat Butter Tart and Hot Sauce Expo at the Ancaster Fairgrounds on Saturday.

This is the festival’s second year and showcases bakers and makers from across the region.

The sweet and spicy event began as a combination between the Butter Tart Fest and the Hot Sauce Expo.

Organizers say this year they have added 80 artisans to the event.

Admission for the event is cash only and costs $6 for visitors and those under 10 years old could get in for free.

The organizers of the event say they will be collaborating with the hot sauce vendors again in the future.

The next event for the festival organizers will be the Great Canadian Butter Tart Fest on May 25th and 26th in Paris, Ont.
