The Burlington Food Truck Festival will be held in Spencer Smith Park in downtown Burlington for three days starting July 15th. Some local restaurant owners aren’t happy about it.

The restaurant owners along with the Burlington downtown business association said they should have been consulted before a massive three-day food truck festival was approved.

Owner of the Martini House, Barry Glazier, said the three-day food truck festival will definitely take away from local restaurants.

The executive director of the Burlington downtown business association said the food trucks have an unfair advantage over the restaurants.

CHCH News reached out to the organizers of the Burlington Food Truck Festival every day this week, but they did not respond.

Owner of 50 Pesos restaurant and food truck, Kristofir Rattray said he’ll be one of the vendors at the festival. Rattray said the festival is a great way to attract people to the community.

Rattray doesn’t believe that the festival will hurt local restaurants that much.

The Burlington Food Truck Festival is expected to attract over 100,000 people and 30 food trucks.
