The city of Burlington says some services will likely be affected by strike action that could start on July 2nd.

The city says it’s negotiating collective agreements with unions representing 230 Burlington Transit workers, outside workers, and recreational staff. Those workers have been without a contract for almost a year.

Mediated talks are scheduled to resume on June 29th. The city says if an agreement is not reached, strike action will cancel Burlington Transit services, and programs at arenas and pools.

The city is promising to provide updates as the deadline approaches.
