Burlington, Oakville group sharing $2.9M 6/49 win

13 turned out to be a lucky number in a lottery pool.

A group of tech workers from Oakville and Burlington are sharing a $2,891,506 jackpot. That was the jackpot in the January 5th Lotto 6/49 draw.

The group has been playing the lottery for five years. Many in the group will be considering their options for their $222,423.54 shares of the loot, including paying off debt, and saving it in RRSPs.

“We are all very pleased! This is a very nice sum of money that will help make life more comfortable for all of us. Definitely a great way to start the year!” said group member Rick Gosden.
