Burlington neighbours upset over new waterfront condos

The developer behind a planned high rise condo near Burlington’s Waterfront appeared before the Ontario Municipal board today after city council opposed the project.
Adi Development group wants to build a 26 story condo development on Martha street where the parking lot is. Some residents and some city councilors say it is just too big of a building for such a small piece of land.
“It has a number of problems with it. Insufficient parking, insufficient amenity space doesn’t blend in the neighbourhood it has an above ground parking structure that will spew exhaust into 3 story town homes behind it.” Marianne Meed Ward, Burlington City Council.
For a two bedroom unit the price starts at just over $470 000. For that you get just under 750 square feet. A two bedroom plus den jumps in price to $800 000 and that will get you just over 1000 square feet. People interested in living in this high rise can register for more information on the building, the developer is advertising that the condo will be “arriving soon.”
Adi Development group did not want to comment on the process today but has said that registering prospective buyers and even pre-selling units is not unusual in the industry.
