Burlington has lifted the temporary six-week mask requirement for city workers on Sunday.

The mask requirement was introduced in November after an almost 45 per cent increase in sick employees.

“The City of Burlington’s leadership team will continue to regularly review its workplace health and safety policies to ensure the wellbeing of its employees and consistent service delivery to the community,” said in a statement.

At the time, the city said it was having difficulty delivering services across the city with limited staff.

The requirement expired on Sunday and officials confirm it will not be renewed.
