Burlington house fire causes $500K in damages

A Burlington home was destroyed in a house fire Friday night.

Officials say the blaze started in the garage of the home on Williamson Court and it spread throughout the house to the second floor.

A man and woman were home at the time, but they managed to get out safely.

The damage estimate is more than $500,000.

Burlington Fire says they believe the fire started by a mechanical failure in one of the cars that was parked in the garage.
