Burlington girl, 11, killed in snowmobile accident

An 11-year-old Burlington girl is dead following a fatal snowmobile accident near Iroquois Falls.

Police say Amanda Huxley was driving a snowmobile across the Highway 11 just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday when she was struck by a transport truck.

She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The highway was closed for about seven hour while police investigated.
