Burlington barrels confirmed toxic

Updated Ontario’s environment ministry has confirmed that preliminary tests done on barrels found buried on a lakefront property in Burlington contain hazardous waste.

The barrels contain a hydrocarbon which is a petroleum or oil-based product. It is now in the process of being taken to a treatment facility in Mississauga before possibly being sent south of the border to be incinerated. More from Melissa Raftis.
