Buckingham Palace issues statement on Harry and Meghan interview

Buckingham Palace has issued a statement in response to Prince Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah.

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” said the statement released Tuesday.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

The statement is the first comment by the palace following Harry and Meghan’s two-hour interview with Oprah.

In that interview, the pair say Meghan had experienced racism and callous treatment during her time in the royal family.
