Brother and sister struck by car in Milton

A brother and sister in Milton have suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car Tuesday night.

Police received several 9-1-1 calls around 7 p.m. about a serious collision at the intersection of Thompson Rd. and McCuaig Dr.

A 23-year-old woman and her 14-year-old brother were attempting to cross Thompson Rd. within the crosswalk when they were struck by a white sedan.

Police say a 27-year-old woman was driving the sedan southbound on Thomspon Rd. when she struck the pair. The car then collided with a minivan as it was coming to a stop.

The brother and sister were rushed to a nearby trauma centre. The boy is in life threatening condition while his sister is in serious but stable condition.

The 27-year-old woman was also taken to hospital but later released.

The driver and passenger inside the minivan were not injured.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
