Brazeau fires a bombshell

There was another bombshell dropped in the senate expense scandal Friday as it held a rare end-of-week session to continue debate on motions to suspend Mike Duffy, Pamela Wallin and Patrick Brazeau without pay.  The trio of Conservative Senators are accused of filing improper expense claims.  Friday, Senator Brazeau stunned the chamber when he said he’d been offered a “back-room deal” if he would apologize for his actions.  Brazeau says the government leader in the Senate said the Conservatives would go easy on him if he did as he was asked.  Claude Carignan admits he spoke with Brazeau but says it was out of friendship.  The Senate could vote on the motion by Tuesday or Wednesday.
