Brantford police say they are now investigating the disappearance of 22-year-old Brayden Ferrall as a homicide after his body was found in Brant County on May 3.

Police say on May 3, police became aware of a discovery of a deceased person in the area of Campbell Road and Old Onondaga Road East.

At the time of the discovery police were unable to identify the body or determine the cause of death before a post-mortem examination.

On May 11, the Office of the Coroner identified the body to be Farrell.

Police say they are working closely with Ferrall’s family to provide them with support.

“During the missing person investigation, we have seen an outpouring of concern from many of Brayden’s friends and would like to remind those who may need assistance to contact Victim Services of Brant, as they can provide immediate support,” said Detective Constable Torek in a statement.

Ferrall has previously been reported missing to the Brantford Police in February, after he failed to return home. He was last seen by his friends on Feb. 18.

Police say they are not able to release details surrounding the nature of the homicide and that this is not believed to be a random incident.
