Brantford woman accused of breaking into home, assaulting resident inside

A Brantford woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly broke into a home and assaulted a resident inside.
Police received reports of a break and enter at a home on Bruce St. around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
Investigators were told a woman had smashed the front window of the home before crawling through to get inside.
She allegedly caused “a disturbance” and then physically assaulted the resident before fleeing the home.
Officers arrived on scene and attempted to take the woman into custody but she resisted and attempted to hit the officers.
Police eventually arrested a 33-year-old woman. She has been charged with mischief under $5,000, assault, break and enter, and resist arrest.
Police say the woman and victim are known to each other and this was not a random incident.
