Brantford police shut down illegal cannabis shop, seize over $130k in products

Brantford police have shut down an illegal cannabis store and seized over $130,000 in products after receiving a complaint from the community.

Officers say approximately $130,860 in illegal cannabis and cannabis-related products was seized during the execution of a search warrant on April 10.

Authorities were given the tip about the store front near Colborne and Clarence Streets on Jan. 27.

An investigation determined the location was not licensed and was operating illegally.

A 50-year-old man and a 51-year-old man, both from Barrie, were arrested and charged with distribution of illicit cannabis and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
