Brantford police searching for one person after reports of armed break-in

Brantford police have one person in custody and are still searching for another after a break-in at a home on Sheridan Street.
Police say they responded to reports about a man with a firearm in the area around 11:00 a.m.
Out of “an abundance of caution,” officers temporarily placed two nearby schools in a hold and secure.
The initial investigation revealed that a break and enter had occurred at a home on Sheridan Street. They determined that the resident, who had a firearm, chased the suspect from the home.
Police say they have one person in custody and are continuing to search for another.
Officers have not yet released a description of the outstanding person, and no charges have been laid.
