Brantford police investigate after $14K worth of copper stolen from 16 homes

Brantford police are asking for the public’s help after more than $14,000 worth of copper was stolen in the city.

Police were contacted on July 28 and informed someone had broken into 16 homes on Anderson Rd. sometime between 7 p.m. on July 14 and 5 a.m. on July 15.

Investigators say someone broke the rear basement windows to gain access to the homes before removing copper piping.

They say 15 of the homes were unoccupied at the time of the thefts.

The total value of the stolen goods is $14,400.
