Brantford police arrest 2 men for drug trafficking; seizing drugs, firearm

Brantford police have arrested two men for alleged drug trafficking Tuesday, seizing illicit drugs and a loaded firearm from a Brantford home.
Officers say an investigation began Nov. 2024 into a suspected drug dealer that was trafficking fentanyl and hydromorphone in the City of Brantford.
Detectives executed a search warrant at an Albion Street home Tuesday and arrested an 18-year-old man from Guelph and a 53-year-old man from Brantford.
They also seized Canadian currency, a digital scale, a loaded 12-guage sawed off shotgun, about 32.8 grams of what they believe is fentanyl and 68 pills of suspected hydromorphone.
Police say neither suspects possessed a valid firearms license, and one of the men is bound by a firearms prohibited order, meaning they cannot possess any restricted firearm or ammunition for life.
Both men have been charged with offences related to possessing fentanyl and hydromorphone, and for unlawfully having the shotgun in their possession.
Both men were held pending a appearance in bail court.
