Brantford pizza shop destroyed by fire

An early morning fire has destroyed a local pizza shop and a neighbouring business in Brantford.

Firefighters were called to Maria’s Pizza on Colborne Street around 5:30 a.m. Sunday. The building was filled with flames and thick smoke that extended to the business next door.

According to Brantford Police, the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called to investigate due to the extent of damages to both buildings.

It is unclear if anyone was inside or if there are any injuries.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
