Brantford man charged in Hamilton vehicle theft

A Brantford man faces a slew of charges in connection with the theft of a vehicle in Hamilton.

Brantford officers were called to Park Ave. around 11 a.m. Thursday for reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Patrol officers located the vehicle and discovered that it had been reported stolen out of Hamilton.

Police say a man, who was getting into the driver’s side, ran away as officers approached.

He was arrested after a brief struggle and short foot chase.

A 28-year-old man was arrested and faces a number of charges including Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000, Obstruct Police-Resist Arrest and Possession of Break and Enter Tools.
