A Brantford man has been charged for assaulting two retail employees who asked him to put on a mask.

Brantford officers were called to a store at Henry St. and Wayne Gretzky Pkwy. just before 10 a.m. on Dec. 23.

They say a man assaulted an employee who had asked him to wear a face covering. The man then fled the store.

Around 1:30 p.m. that same day, police received a second report of a similar incident.

In this case, a man became confrontational with an employee who asked him to wear a face covering. Police say he threw merchandise at the person when they asked him to leave the store.

Officers confirmed the same man was responsible for both incidents.

A 25-year-old Brantford man has been charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000.

He’s also facing a charge under the Reopening Ontario Act.
