Brantford man, 60, arrested for allegedly luring a 14-year-old girl online

A 60-year-old Brantford man has been charged following a child luring investigation that involved the United States Homeland Security and Alburquerque police.
The U.S. police agencies contacted Brantford officers on Dec. 3 about a male from the region who had engaged in the online luring of a girl who was believed to be 14 years old.
As a result of their joint investigation, police arrested Gerald Lucas and charged him with luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication and make sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age.
Police later executed a search warrant at a residence on Freeborn Ave. where they seized several computers and electronic devices.
Brantford police believe the accused used several social media chat sites under the user name “Canadianman_47.”
Police also believe there may be more victims.
Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050 or Det. Michael Korda of the Brantford Police-CASA Unit at 519-756-0113, ext. 3007.
